La Pecora Brogna: a sheep for the environment.
The Association for the Promotion and Protection of the Brogna Sheep has been operating in Lessinia since 2012 to safeguard and relaunch the native mountain breed Brogna Sheep, a heritage of biodiversity also recognized as a Slow Food Presidium.
Bringing together breeders, technicians, restaurateurs and processors, the Association follows a specification that guarantees pasture-raising, animal welfare and organic methods.
Thanks to the triple aptitude of the sheep - meat, milk and wool - it promotes quality products: delicately flavoured meat, cheeses, ricottas, ice creams, and fine wools for artisanal yarns.
With initiatives in the area and participation in gastronomic events, the Association actively supports the sustainable supply chain, enhancing the rural culture of Lessinia and contributing to the protection of the mountain landscape.
